Secretary General of the Turkish Geographical Society Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaan Kapan established the "Geographical Council of Turkic States" together with the Heads of Geographical Institutions of 6 countries (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, Azerbaijan and Turkey) and the representative of the Organization of Turkic States as of 8 May 2023 at the meeting held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. With this organization, it is expected that the contribution of scientific studies in Turkey and other member countries within the Turkic World will increase and bilateral relations will further develop.
